Let’s NOT Give Credit to Musharraf for Fair Elections!
By Dr Aurangzeb Syed

Well the credit for no rigging, for holding a fair and transparent elections which all parties attest to, is perhaps, maybe, due to the man in charge in Pakistan — why is it not President Musharraf?
However, it is difficult for many of us to call a spade a spade. Therefore, let us not give any credit to Musharraf — give it to anyone else, God, Gen. Kiyani (by the way he is also a General and very close to President Musharraf), US, India, weather, Taliban, you name it, except the one to whom it really belongs — (can you figure out now) – part of our national character.
And there should be absolutely no accountability of those who have been saying at the top of their voices that Musharraf will rig the elections massively. What face do they have to show now?
All those who could not tire themselves of saying months ago that the elections have already been "rigged" have been shown to be political speculators or manipulators. I think they should, for a moment — just a tiny whiny moment,  regret their wild assertions which brought so much anxiety and turbulence to the already traumatized people of our homeland. Only then one would have a right to say 'Pakistan Zindabad'.
