Our Prayers for Those Affected by 9/11

We extend our deepest condolences and prayers to those who have been affected by 9/11. September 11 marked the 7th anniversary of that senseless act of violence. It has been a difficult time for all of us. We stand divided as a nation and that tragedy has created a culture of fear, anger and hatred. We need to replace it with a culture of hope, love and peace. We need to come together to comfort, love and care for each other so we could heal.

American Muslim Voice  (AMV) will remain dedicated to the cause of peace. AMV is urging all Americans to honor the victims of 9/11 by working towards creating a culture of peace, acceptance, mutual respect and harmony in the world.

“If one takes a life, it is as if one has taken the life of all humanity. If one saves a single life, it is as if he has saved the life of all humanity.”  The Qur'an 5:32.

The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it...  Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate.

In fact, violence merely increases hate....  Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. - Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

We have set before us two paths, a path of hatred, anger and destruction or the path of forgiveness, love and peace. I am begging all my fellow Americans to choose the path of forgiveness, love and peace for the sake of our children, future of our country and peaceful tomorrows. -  Samina F. Sundas

AMV was established in July 2003 as a grassroots, nonviolent, inclusive, civil, immigrant and human rights organization building alliances and genuine partnerships with like-minded groups and individuals to protect and preserve civil liberties and constitutional rights for all. Our goal is to bridge the gap between all communities and unite us all under the umbrella of our common humanity. We celebrate diversity and value all human beings regardless of race, religion or creed.
