Extending the Role of OIC

As the 40th Anniversary of OIC ( Organization of the Islamic Conference) is celebrated in September, it must be strongly argued that the organization must be extended into an alliance to defend the Muslim countries. Since the dreadful events of September 11, 2001 four Islamic countries have been occupied and or bombed heavily by NATO and Israel. Iraq, Afghanistan are occupied, Gaza and Lebanon were attacked and bombed incessantly.

Taking advantage of the West's obsession with the " War on Terror" Russia destroyed Muslim majority area of Chechnya and Inghustia in the caucuses and prompted by USA Ethiopia invaded and occupied Somalia in Africa. India increased its repression of its Muslim minority, especially in Kashmir , by stationing over 600,000 soldiers. Of the 57 members of the OIC, five are under occupation or threatened by unholy alliances between Zionists, Christian West and Hindu India. Over 70 million Muslims are under occupation or mortally threatened by hostile forces across the globe.
The belligerence and arrogance of Israel has reached its peak as it continues to usurp Palestinian land, commit war crimes in Gaza, attack its neighbors Syria and Lebanon and is now openly threatening Iran. Iran is a democratic Islamic state, a proud bastion of culture and history, and steadfast upholder of Islamic traditions. It is now under threat of being decimated. Bellicose statements of President Sarkozy of France and a tacit nod by Joseph Biden give permission to Israel to attack Iran on the pretext of preventing Iran from becoming a nuclear weapons power.
The OIC charter states to preserve Islamic social and economic values; promote solidarity amongst member states; increase cooperation in social, economic, cultural, scientific, and political areas; uphold international peace and security; and advance education, particularly in the fields of science and technology. For any of the above objectives, to

preserve a Muslim country, OIC must extend to become a defense pact. An attack on an Islamic country would be considered an attack on the 57 member states. They must come to the defense of the member state with all their economic and military resources.
I urge upon the readers of Pakistan Link to understand the gravity of the situation and to launch a grassroots campaign for the creation of a defense alliance amongst member states of the Organization of Islamic Conference.
