An Open Letter to Ambassador Husain Haqqani

Amongst different circles in the United States of America there is a growing concern that you are SOFT on India despite the country’s conspicuous role in the development of Afghanistan to destabilize Pakistan, e.g., 200 kilometer highway, multiple consulate offices, thousands of miscreants  disguised as Afghanis aiding and abetting Baluchis, and many ongoing projects (for decades) in India that will hurt the water supply to Pakistan in the near future.

With all the opposition hanging over the Kerry- Lugar (K-L) bill, could you please explain to the Pakistani community as to why the bill was not discussed in the parliament before it got the blessings of both Houses in the US?

Isn’t our Army getting a short end of the stick because of the K-L Bill?  If not, then why are they up in arms (unprecedented in Pakistan’s history) about it along with most of the Opposition? In a few words, can you pacify the Army to cool down its reservations about this bill?

Do you think so much interference by the US officials in the affairs of the Military is good for the security of Pakistan?

Isn’t Pakistan’s sovereignty on the line? In this world we cannot put all eggs in one basket but with this Bill we did. Or it seems like we did. Example: who gets promoted in the Army, etc, etc.

The writing is on the wall that India has formed a nexus between the US and some puppet allies like Afghanistan to surround Pakistan and force Pakistan to live according to its terms and conditions. With its heavy investment in the infrastructure of Afghanistan India is hand in glove with the US to keep Pakistan under its thumb.  India is doing all it can to surround Pakistan from the Afghan border.  Did we have a memory lapse about what happened in our lifetime when we surrendered with 90,000 troops on the ground in the midst of the worst bloodshed ever recorded? Muslims against Muslims? Indira Gandhi and her supporters were jumping with joy and claimed sarcastically, “We are not a Super Power of this region”.  In fact they want Pakistan to exist according to its terms and condition.

We don’t need 1.5 billion a year that threatens our sovereignty and this Bill does it without any ambiguity, Please clarify.

Seems like India is winning a diplomatic war. What are you going to do about it sitting in the heart of the only Super Power?

 Please oblige with a response.
