Saba Trust’s Appeal for Flood Victims
By Saghir Aslam
President, Saba Trust
Pakistan

The devastating floods in Pakistan have been described by the United Nations as the worst in the history of the country since 1929.

Homes have been swept away, many bridges destroyed, and entire villages buried under landslides. And now there is the danger of the spread of waterborne diseases like diarrhea and cholera.

According to the Pakistan Government more than 1,400 people are dead, and more than 100,000 have been rendered homeless as the problems multiply by the minute.

The situation is becoming more desperate in Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Sindh. where more than one million people have been affected by raging floods and landslides. The toll is rising.

Saba Trust, which is now well established in Pakistan and fully capable of dealing with such catastrophes, has launched an emergency campaign to help flood victims, with the disbursement of food and medical supplies at different affected places. Saba distributed badly needed tents, blankets, bed sheets and medicines during these difficult times.

Your help is desperately needed.

Please donate as much as you can and encourage your friends to do likewise.

We have set up a separate account for flood relief.
