The inquiry reports of none of the 17 air crashes involving Pakistani commercial carriers since 1947 have been made public. The concerned authorities could not determine the cause of three incidents. Of the remaining 14, they said ‘ pilot error’ had caused nine crashes while in the remaining cases Government just did not divulge any details.
Air Blue A320 Airbus crash took place on July 28, 2010. 152 people were killed, the black box was found and duly sent to France for interpretation of the messages. An inquiry commission was formed and the defense minister stated that a report would be made public soon.
Why has the Government of Pakistan not disclosed the findings of the inquiry commission so far? Are people of Pakistan even concerned? Why is there such an apathy towards such incidents? Has anybody asked the Government to make the inquiry report public?
Given recent incidents with Airbus aircraft, it is an imperative that Government of Pakistan should publicly disclose the findings or tell the people if inquiry is still on-going.
People have the right to know. Why aren't the people of Pakistan exercising this right?
