President with Absconder

A front page picture in an English daily showed President Mamnoon Hussain, who was on visit to the UK, hugging Hussain Nawaz when he visited the Harley Street Clinic where ailing Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, wife of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, is currently being treated.
Looking at the picture the first thought that came to my mind was, “Bravo, the President of Pakistan had himself grabbed hold of a proclaimed absconder, whom the Pak LEAs had failed to apprehend”. But, no, it wasn’t so as the President soon clarified that “he even today stood by the Sharifs”.
May be the President of Pakistan didn’t know that the Sharifs were cons and a “wanted” clan now and that the avowed highest authority of a country and the protector of the constitution should have no truck with them – in fact, he should not be seen in their company. But, I suppose,
