VIP Flights
By Col. Riaz Jafri (Retd.)

It is customary for the chief of an air crew, and at times the captain of a VIP flight, to stand near the air-stairs and be the first to salute the alighting VIP. But, I have yet to see any of our rulers and leaders to even acknowledge his greetings, what to talk of returning it! They just ignore him, and saunter to shake hands with the dignitaries lining up the reception line.
But this is not how others behave. Most foreign queens, kings, heads of state, and VIPs, not only shake hands with a smile but have a word or two with the captain thanking him for the comfortable flight and the way he/she was looked after by his crew.
I suppose, they have a different set of human values than our Alee Martabats.
