The Newsweek article on Pakistan is Print Journalism at its worst. Instead of highlighting infrastructure development to rebuild Karachi and other parts of the country in record time, Newsweek has wantonly and willfully smeared the image of the country. The small and isolated incidents of lawlessness resulting from the US global war on terrorism have been blown out of proportion and an impression has been created that the whole country is plagued by problems of sorts. Pakistan is a country of 160 million moderate Muslims. Great progress is being made in every nook and corner of Pakistan. I know none of the success stories about Pakistan would appeal to the partisan Newsweek.

PAL-C's commitment to building awareness and educating Members of Congress on issues important to Pakistani Americans have made it a reputable and recognized name on Capitol Hill with an office right next door to the Heritage Foundation. Without the continued support of the community to such an important cause, PAL-C will not be able to reach its ultimate potential – a loss that will affect each and every Pakistani American today and in the future.
