Sohail Ahmed Is Making His Punjabi Film Debut in Babe Bhangra Paunde Ne
The film also stars Diljit Dosanjh, who plays the role of a man who has money-making ideas that expand to adopting a father, played by Ahmed, to get money from an insurance policy.
Comedian Sohail Ahmed is all set to make his Punjabi film debut with Indian singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh and Sargun Mehta in Babe Bhangra Paunde Ne. He’s playing a prominent character who will be a big support for the main lead, played by the ‘Proper Patola’ singer.
The trailer was shared on Tuesday by the singer and showed that the film is a family comedy, a forte of Ahmed’s who is known to make everyone cackle.
The trailer opens with Dosanjh scheming with his friends about making money through various means, one of which is a scheme to adopt a father to get money from an insurance policy. Ahmed plays his father while Mehta plays the role of a person who works at an old age home but becomes part of the plan by sharing information about the health conditions of the people where she works.
Mehta and Dosanjh try to keep Ahmed alive till the policy is active — 25 days — but things don’t go as planned as their supposed father’s health starts to improve in their company. The movie has been shot in the US and has been directed by Amarjit Singh Saron. Hammad Chaudhry, the CEO of HKC entertainment, is serving as the executive producer for the film.
Ahmed told Images, “ Babe Bhangra Paunde Ne is my first Punjabi film, it’s an Indo-Pak Canadian film with comedy as a genre. There are contributions of two Pakistani in this movie, I have worked in the movie while Hammad Chaudhry is the executive producer of the film. The overall experience of working in an international project is very exciting.”
He also said that the film will be releasing on October 5 worldwide and will also be screened in Pakistani theatres. - Images
