Pakistan People’s Party California Chapter organized
a function to celebrate the release of of Mr. Asif Ali Zardari
from prison. A large number of people and party workers
attended the event. The event was organized at the residence
of Mr. KB Bhutto, President Pakistan People’s Party.
Mr. Saleem Soomro formally started the event by thanking
all the participants to take their time out to come to the
event. Saleem Soomro then invited Dr. Ashraf Khwaja Editor
Pakistan Weekly. In his remarks on the occasion, Dr. Khwaja
said: “It is matter of great pride for all PPP workers
and people of Pakistan that Mr. Zardari has been freed after
eight years. Mr. Asif Zardari has proved that he is an example
of democracy and strength of Pakistan. Mr. Zardari made
Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto proud of him.” He further
said that Pakistan was created bythe power of the vote but
it is lamentable that even after the passage of 57 years
the peo ple of Pakistan are unable to select their leaders
by free will.

Mr. Hashim Jaffry,
speaking next, said: “We live under one slogan ‘Jeeay
Bhutto’ “ Raising his voice, he chanted ‘Jeeay
Bhutto’ to which the audiences responded with a loud
and thundering “Sada Jeeay”
Finally, Mr. KB Bhutto came on the stage and said that Mr.
Asif Ali Zardari has proved that he is a brave and leader,
and a great son-in-law of Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto. He
said Shaheed Zulifqar Ali Bhutto’s Pakistan People’s
Party established 37 years ago is growing every day, becoming
stronger and stronger. He said a change in Pakistan is imminent
and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto will return to her beloved homeland
to fulfill the dreams of the nation.
A delicious dinner was served by Mrs. Najama Bhutto (President
PPP Ladies Wing) along with Mrs. Jaffery, Mrs Ashraf, Mrs,
Saleem, and other PPP Ladies Wing workers
After that PPP California leaders comprising Chaudry Akram
Advocate General Secretary, KB Bhutto, Mr. Hashim Jaffery
President PPP Los Angeles City Chapter, and Jaffar Syed
from London, UK, met and discussed the current political
situation in Pakistan.
