IVACC Celebrates End
of Year on an Eventful Note

Sacramento: Asian make
up more than six percent of the population of the United
States and if we unify and struggle together, we can make
a difference in American politics, said Mrs. Regina Yin.
Mrs. Yen was the keynote speaker at the IVACC year-end party
at Sher-E-Punjab in Sacramento. In a marked buoyant mood,
she said, “Today, I am so thrilled to see all Asian
and South Asian brethren gathered to celebrate this occasion
under one roof.”

The party was hosted
by Mr. Kamran Amin, a Loan Consultant for Washington Mutual.
Speaking on the occasion, Kamran said, “I am here
to help the community in fulfilling the American dream of
the pursuit of a happy life.” He promised that he
would go out of the way to help the community members in
getting any kind of loan, whether it is for business, home
or pleasure.
After a few more speeches, Sher-E-Punjab roared with beats
of drums. Poonam Mulhotra entertained the crowed with her
beautiful songs. The audience jumped to the dancing arena
when Poonam sang, “shararaa shararaa, main hoon ek
shararaa”, and “dayaan dayaan ray”.

A kids group “TITLIAN”
also entertained the audience with their captivating dances.
Giddha by Lodi De motera was very much appreciated by the
crowd.
A beautiful folk dance was presented by dancers from Tibet
while a Chinese group presented the folk music and dance
of China.

The evening highlight
was a belly dance by Hasna Asjad who only recentlymigrated
from Morocco to the US. The Indus Valley American Chamber
of Commerce year-end party was a big success and was enjoyed
by everyone present. IVACC is a business organization of
South Asian Americans and sponsors social and cultural activities.
It supports the economic development of the Indus Valley
American community and provides access to information and
programs offered by various groups to launch or improve
their businesses. IVACC helps its members by keeping them
informed of legislations that affect businesses.
