United Central Bank
Donates $15,000
At a ceremony held at a local hotel in
Houston, the Chairman of United Central Bank Mr. James D.
Yoo presented a check of US$15,000 to Consul General G.R.
Baluch towards the President’s Relief Fund. The Chairman
of United Central Bank in his statement mentioned that the
contribution was an expression of support and sympathy for
earthquake victims from the management and employees of
the Bank. He appreciated the courage of the people and the
leadership of President Pervez Musharraf in facing up to
the situation caused by the devastating earthquake. He assured
that the US public stands shoulder to shoulder with the
people of Pakistan in this difficult moment.
Consul General Baluch in response thanked on behalf of the
President of Pakistan General Pervez Musharraf and on his
own behalf, the management and employees of the Bank for
their gesture and generosity in donating to the President’s
Relief fund. The Consul General remarked that the gesture
of support reflects the Bank management’s policy of
giving back to the community thereby becoming a role model
for the corporate sector in the US for doing community service.
The Consul General also briefed the Board of Directors of
the bank who were present during the ceremony, about the
relief and reconstruction efforts of the Government in earthquake
affected areas.
