IAHV Appeal for Tsunami
Disaster Relief
Washington DC: The International Association
for Human Values, in association with the Art of Living
Foundation (both international NGOs in special consultative
status with the United Nations and present in 142 countries
worldwide), have issued a world wide appeal for contributions
towards immediate relief and rehabilitation work in regions
that have been affected by devastating tidal waves in South
Asia. IAHV already sent $25,000 for immediate relief efforts.
More than 500 volunteers of both organizations have already
begun relief work in the worst affected areas in India.
According to media reports, IAHV/AOL volunteers were the
first NGOs to arrive to assist in the Andaman and Nicobar
islands, one of the most severely affected areas outside
