PIA Reduces London, Houston
Fares by 20pc
Lahore: The Pakistan International Airlines
(PIA) on Thursday reduced fare on two international destinations
by 20 per cent.
The national flag carrier has reduced the fares on its London
and Houston destinations; however, on the other US routes
the fare would remain unchanged. The PIA would charge Rs 68,230,
excluding all taxes, on a return ticket for the economy class.
Likewise, Rs 39,850 on return tickets for London, Manchester
and Birmingham would be charged. The reduced fare would be
effective from Friday till July 31.
A PIA spokesman said the reduction in fares on domestic and
international routes was part of an aggressive marketing strategy
being followed by the national flag carrier. He said after
reducing 20 per cent fares on international routes, the PIA
fares were the lowest as compared to Gulf Airlines, Emirates
Airlines, Qatar Airlines and Kuwait Airlines.
The PIA had already reduced fares by 17 percent to 37 percent
on various domestic destinations. The new management was determined
to win the confidence of its customers, the spokesman added.
