Attack at Mosque In Victorville

According to an MPAC press release, the United Islamic Youth Organization Cemetery near Victorville, California, was the target of a possible arson attack at 4:30am Friday, June 3, according to the FBI and Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). The target of the fire was a 2100 square-foot facility used as a mosque and burial preparation for Muslims throughout San Bernardino County. The entire building was burned to the ground. Local media report that this cemetery has been the target of several vandalism attacks.

“MPAC is calling on the FBI to classify this incident as a hate crime. The reported attack is the latest of incidents against Muslim symbols and Muslims throughout America and should not be considered an isolated incident.
