Natasha Shoro’s
Solo Exhibition Opens in Irvine
Natasha
Shoro has been determinedly been trying to tap into the
difficult-to-penetrate art scene of Orange County. Her hard
work has borne fruit. With several exhibitions already to
her name, first at Merrian Meyers in Laguna Beach and then
at Bistango Art Gallery, she finally got her own showing
in her hometown, Irvine. Her exhibition opened on Sunday
March 6, 2005 and will run for two weeks at the reputable
Irvine Fine Arts Center.
Her works represents inner spaces and an underlying influence
of music, color, patterns as primary inspiration can be
observed. When asked what she thinks her work expresses,
she elucidates: “My work expresses an ebb and flow
between my inner and outer spaces in relation to an overlapping,
entwined identity, blending two diverse cultures.”
Her inner spaces represent her feelings, mental images of
music, color, patterns, and symbols that are almost within
her subconscious state. Her outer spaces come forth in architectural
elements, three-dimensional spaces, layers, screens, sometimes
allowing light and other times just sound and vibration
through texture or fine lines.
“All this is an expression of my life experience,”
says Natasha.
Natasha’s exhibition will take you on a journey of
discovery, one which she went on. Her eastern influence
suggests disorder, confusion and chaos within formal boundaries
and hard edges. There is a sense of underlying logic in
the eastern confusion. Her western side is more formal,
logical and fluid. The boundaries of the eastern and western
culture meet and overlap in her clean and open expression.
The exhibition will be on view from March 6-April 9, 2005
at the Irvine Fine Arts Center,Yale Avenue, Irvine.
