Samina Faheem Sundas Honored
Santa
Clara County, California, has chosen Samina Faheem Sundas,
Executive Director of American Muslim Voice, to be the recipient
of a prestigious Human Relations Award in recognition of her
outstanding service to the community.
Each year, the Office of Human Relations and the Human Relations
Commission of Santa Clara County hold an award ceremony to
honor a number of outstanding citizens for their voluntary
and/or professional contributions in the areas of human rights,
civil rights and human relations.
Samina will receive the award at the Santa Clara County Human
Relations Awards Breakfast on June 2, 2005 at the Wyndham
Hotel, San Jose.
Ms. Samina Faheem Sundas is the founding Executive Director
of the American Muslim Voice, and Co-founder of Fear To Friendship,
a group working to subside the fear after 9/11 by forming
life-long friendships. Her focus is on community building
and forming life-long friendships among all Americans so “we
can all enjoy peace and harmony in our nation and in our world.”
She believes that “we can achieve that goal through
education, openness, acceptance and mutual respect.”
