Sacramento: Once again, the
annual Milad-un-Nabi parade at the lawn of the Capitol Building
in Sacramento attracted devotees from across America to celebrate
the birthday of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).
It was the 6th annual event organized by the Jamaate Ahlussunah,
CA and Sunni Ulema Council and other groups. President of
the California Jamaat Ahlul Sunnah and Sunni Ulema Council,
Allama Haji Qari Basheer Ahmad Sialvi, presided over the event.
Haji Mohammed Sabir Chisti performed the duties of the master
of ceremony.
The parade was led by Haji Qari Basheer Ahmad Sialvi, president
of the Jamaate Ahlussunah, CA and Sunni Ulema Council. Other
ulema in the parade included Allama Maqsood Ahmad Qadri Atari
from New York, Mufti Azeem Qadri, Mufti Seyed Aulade Rasool,
Molana Peer Zubair Naqshbandi, Ameene Millat Molana Ameen
Noaman, Molana Abdul Rehman, Shaire Ahlussunnat Haji Mohammed
Sabir Chisti, and other local speakers and naatkhwaan.
It was a rainy Sunday, but the people came prepared with umbrellas
and raincoats to assemble for the march of the procession
of the Jashne Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi in the parking lot of the
immigration building. The rain was pouring hard, but the devotees
began their walk towards the Capitol Building. Fortunately,
the rain stopped before the marchers reached in front of the
capitol building where the program of the speeches and the
naat recitation began with recitation of the Holy Qur’an.
Mufti Maqsood of New York gave a very heart-warming speech
on the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet. Other speakers
gave enlightened speeches highlighting the role model of the
Prophet (PBUH).
The president of the California Jamaat Ahlul Sunnah and Sunni
Ulema Council, Allama Haji Qari Basheer Ahmad Sialvi, in his
speech emphasized the importance of unity of Muslim brotherhood
under the command of Allah and the Prophet (PBUH). He asked
everybody to learn to live as one Ummah. He also thanked all
the participants, speakers, naatkhwaan, supporters and sponsors
of the program.
Speaking about the successful annual milad parade, Mr. Khalid
Saeed, President of the American Muslim Voice, said that the
event provides a positive exposure to our community and faith.
“Holding the event at the CA Capitol is itself a significant
event which attracts attention of law makers and fellow citizens.”
Mr. Shahid Chaudhry, a community activist of Sacramento, said
that our community now awaits this annual event which has
been held uninterrupted for the last six years.
