Dr. M. Saud Anwar Receives
Accolades for His Services
Hartford, Connecticut:
The Connecticut State General Assembly on April 18, 2006,
passed an official citation - introduced by Senator Donald
E. Williams Jr. of 29th District, Representative William
Aman of 14th District, Representative Michael A. Christ
of 11th District and Senator Gary E. LeBeau of 3rd District
- to offer sincerest felicitations to Dr. M. Saud Anwar,
President-Elect of Pakistani American Public Affairs Committee
(PAKPAC) Connecticut in recognition of his outstanding achievements,
leadership and commitment to Connecticut. The entire State
Assembly extended best wishes on the memorable occasion
and expressed the hope for his continued success
This official citation was presented to Dr. M. Saud Anwar
on the 18th of April 2006 at the State Capitol Building
in Hartford, CT. Dr. Anwar also received official recognition
with a statement from Her Excellency Governor Jodi Rell,
Governor of Connecticut, who on behalf of the State of Connecticut
extended greetings and congratulations to Dr. Saud Anwar
and commended his perseverance and dedication to public
service. She mentioned his commitment and drive, and said
that it was an inspiration to all of the Connecticut residents
and a testament to the strength and determination. She recognized
Dr Anwar as a fine representative of the State of Connecticut
and officially recognized him.
On the occasion, Honorable Attorney General of Connecticut
Richard Blumenthal joined in to recognize the Dr. Saud Anwar
for outstanding cooperation and continued service to the
state and the nation as recognized by the Connecticut community.
Kevin Sullivan, Lieutenant Governor of Connecticut, and
Secretary of State Ms Susan Bysiewicz were also present.
Dr. Saud Anwar’s friends, family and prominent members
of the Connecticut community were present at the event.
