Award for Jameel Zafer Iqbal

Jameel Zafer Iqbal, PhD, has received the Research Achievement Award of the Graduate School at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, New York. He was also last year's winner of the Anthony Means Award for Basic Science Research at the Endocrine Society for his work on FSH and bone which appeared in the most prestigious scientific research journal, Cell.
Dr Iqbal has published 20 original research papers in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), FASEB Journal, American Journal of Physiology, Journal of Clinical Investigation, and Endocrinology, etc., besides contributing chapters in two text books in the endocrinology area. He participated as an invited speaker in the plenary session of the 27th Annual ASBMR meeting last year.
He will be finishing his MD clinical degree work under the Medical Science Training Program early next year.
