The NED Engineers Association of Greater Chicago (NEDEA) presented a ‘distinguished service award’ to Anwar Khan, president of OBAT Helpers, in recognition of his great services for stranded Pakistanis in Bangladesh. The award ceremony was held at the NEDEA annual dinner on December 8 in Chicago.
Chairman NEDEA Khairulbashar Siddiqui presented the award with the comment that ‘as NEDIAN we are very proud of you for your great humanitarian work .and your relentless support for them (stranded Pakistanis) has created a hope for humanity.’
In a later message, Mr Anwar Khan said: “Eid Mubarak and Happy Holidays. Thanks for all your help and support. I will be traveling on Sunday Dec 16th and will be in Bangladesh from Dec 18 to Jan 3. On my way back I will stay in Karachi and Dubai for a couple days. Please keep them in your thoughts during your prayers. You can still call at 317 361-5096 to check my schedule and/or contact number. Insha-Allah we will be finalizing some more projects, schools, and performing the qurbani and distribution of meat in different camps during my stay.”
