Munir Niazi Never Pursued
Riches: Mowahid
Washington, DC: Munir
Niazi was a towering personality who dealt with big ideas,
but had a simple life style. His loss is irreplaceable.
This was stated by Mowahid Hussain Shah, Special Assistant
to Chief Minister, Punjab, while expressing his condolences
in Washington on the demise of the distinguished poet.
Mowahid added that Munir Niazi was a highly sensitive individual,
whose poetry flowered under the pressure of pain and, hence,
it was particularly creative. In the consumer-driven and
materially obsessed society of today, Munir Niazi stands
tall as a man who did not succumb to temptations and remained
true to his conscience, said Mowahid. “In his death,
Pakistan has lost a literary giant, while I have personally
lost a great friend,” concluded Mowahid.
