15th Annual US-Pakistan
Friendship Day at Capitol Hill
The Pakistani American Congress is going
to celebrate the 15th Annual US-Pakistan Friendship Day
at Capitol Hill on June 20.
The program will take place in two segments.
First, there will be a seminar between 11 am to 3 pm at
the Windham Hotel, M Street, Washington DC. The seminar
will bring together State Department officials, American
and Pakistani American intellectuals and leaders who will
speak about “The state of human rights, justice and
democracy in Pakistan.” Imran Khan has confirmed to
attend the seminar.
The other segment of the program, a Congressional reception,
will take place between 4 pm to 8 pm at the Rayburn House
Office Building, Room 340 on June 20. In keeping with the
past, several Congressmen and Senators will come to the
reception and express their views on the current state of
affairs in Pakistan. Quite a few other speakers will also
address the gathering.
A message from K. Ashraf, President Elect, PAC, states:
“If you get personal commitment from your Senator
or Congressman to attend the Congressional Reception, I
would request you introduce your Congressman. If you get
early commitments, please email me the information. It will
help us organize the program better.”
