HDF Convention from
May 25-28
The first HDF Convention
will be held from May 25-28, 2007 at the Donald E. Stephens
Convention Center, IL Center, Rosemont, IL.
The convention is being held to celebrate the 10 years of
the Human Development Foundation. In a message, Dr Shahnaz
Khan and Dr M. Khalid Riaz, HDF stalwarts, have
Stated: “It is due to your dedicated commitment and
contributions that HDF has been able to make a difference
in the lives of so many people in Pakistan. You have always
been supportive of HDF and have helped in any way you could.
“The convention will be a journey of love for those
in quest of human development. It will provide a unique
opportunity for people to interact in an academically stimulating,
fun and family friendly environment with other activists
and leaders in the field of human development, to celebrate
the 10 th anniversary of the Human Development Foundation
and to work together for the human development movement…”
Highlights of the three-day program are:
Friday night: Dinner/entertainment for young adults.
Saturday: Plenary sessions during the day and a community
dinner and entertainment in the evening by the HDF Chicago
Network.
Sunday: Plenary sessions during the day and HDF banquet
in the evening. Justice (retired) Saeed uz Zaman Siddiqui
is expected to be the keynote speaker. Ahmed Faraz will
read his poetry.
Monday: HDF advocacy program, Zubaida Jalal's presentation
on Social Protection Strategy, a government of Pakistan
initiative and final comments by Adil Najam.
