Consular Fee Can Be Paid
through Debit/Credit Cards
The Consulate General of Pakistan, Los Angeles, has announced
the introduction of Debit/Credit Card Machine facility at
the Consulate with effect from October 1, 2007. “In
addition to the existing practice of cashier checks/money
orders, the consular fee will also be accepted through Debit/Credit
cards. Surcharge of 2.5% will, however, apply for this facility
on each transaction, “ says a Consulate press release.
It adds:
“Only Debit/Credit/Visa/Master and Discover cards will
be accepted. In order to avail this facility a photo ID such
as, Driving License or State Identification Card together
with the Debit/Credit card of the application, will be required
at the time of transaction.
“The introduction of this facility is to provide efficient
and hassle free consular services to the Pakistani-American
community members.”
