Qutubuddin Aziz Commends
MAS Efforts
Mr. Qutubuddin Aziz, a
former Pakistani diplomat and council member of the World
Muslim Congress who is visiting his children in California,
has welcomed the adoption of a resolution upholding the sanctity
of the holy fasting month of Ramadan by the US House of Representatives.
Mr. Aziz said, “ I consider this a gesture of goodwill
from the US House of Representatives as friendly greetings
to Muslims throughout the world and an affirmation of their
respect which the US government has for American Muslims.”
Mr. Aziz urged American Muslims to build stronger bridges
of understanding and friendships with other friendly communities
in the USA. Mr. Aziz said that he particularly appreciates
the efforts of many Afro-American Muslims to discover their
old Islamic ties in Africa. The success of their efforts to
discover more about their Muslim past will help in deepening
the links of American Muslims with the nearly 1.5 billion
Muslims all over the globe. Mr. Aziz gave the greetings of
the forthcoming Eid-ul-Fitr to American Muslim brothers and
sisters.
Mr. Aziz highly praised the members of the Muslim American
Society (MAS) for successfully lobbying to have the US House
representatives to pass the Ramadan resolution.
