The
Islamic Society of Orange County organized a special fundraising
Iftar and dinner on Sunday, September 30th, 2007.
The dinner was held at the Knott’s Berry Resort Hotel
in Buena Park.
This annual event brings the community together during the
blessed month of Ramadan. The event was attended by a large
number of Muslim Americans of Southern California and the
attendees donated generously for the expansion project of
Orange Crescent School and Masjid Al-Rahman.
The number of guests approximated 500. The speakers, Javed
Nawaz, Dr. Muzamil Siddiqui, and others emphasized many issues
during the event. Among them was the important role that ISOC
plays in Orange County and around the country as well as the
need to strengthen the center by financial support.
A letter of Appreciation was sent by the city of Garden Grove
on the 25th anniversary of ISOC. The letter was read during
the event by the ex-chairman of the Majlis-e-Shura and a founding
member Brother Najjar.
The event concluded on a positive note with a manifest feeling
of progress and unity among the American Muslim community
of Orange County.
