Keith Ellison to Speak
at CAIR-LA Banquet
Anaheim,
CA: US Rep Keith Ellison (D-MN), the nation's first elected
Muslim Congressman, will deliver keynote address at the Council
on American-Islamic Relations, Greater Los Angeles Area's
11th Annual Banquet scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 10. This
will be Congressman Ellison’s first public address in
Southern California since getting elected.
The event will be a great opportunity to hear the Congressman
speak about his vision and hope for the American Muslim community
despite the challenges Muslims have endured over the past
several years and the importance of sustained outreach to
the larger society.
Other guests include former diplomat and author Michael Morgan,
CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad, and Imam Siraj
Wahhaj of Masjid Al-Taqwa in Brooklyn, NY.
Over the past 11 years, the Southern California Muslim community
has seen CAIR-LA work to protect and uphold American Muslims'
civil rights, politically empower them, educate America on
Islam, and partner with various community and interfaith groups
to work on social justice issues.
These are excellent reasons for you to buy tickets to CAIR's
upcoming banquet. In the past five years, the event was sold
out, with almost 2,000 attendees. Don't take a chance. Reserve
