Pak-Americans Demand Immediate Restoration of SC Judges

 

Chicago, Illinois: The Pakistan American Democratic Forum (PADF), an organization founded in 1982 to support pursuit of democracy in Pakistan, has strongly urged PPP Co-chair Asif Ali Zardari not to waver from  fulfilling his party’s campaign promise to restore the Supreme Court judges status quo ante Nov 2, 2007.
The PADF statement in part reads:
“Just yesterday it was reported in the Pakistani press that “Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani would hand down an executive order for the restoration of the superior courts judges, including the deposed Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, on April 23 or 25."
“Now the PPP appears to be making a u-turn. However, the people of Pakistan will not accept this act of betrayal. Refusing to reinstate SC Judges is the only way of keeping the Musharraf dictatorship alive. 
 “We call on Pakistani Americans to email Mr. Asif Ali Zardari at ppp@comsats.net.pk or centralinformationsecretary@gmail.com urging him not to sustain Gen Musharraf in office by betraying the judiciary.
