Dr. Shahid Athar Honored

I am very happy to share with you that our own Dr. Shahid Athar of Indianapolis IN has received  "The Distinguished Service Award " from  the Int. Medicine Residency Program at St. Vincent Hospital Indianapolis IN.  This is the second time that Dr. Athar has received the award.
I cordially and sincerely congratulate Dr Shahid Athar on this great honor.
Dr. Shahid Athar, MD, FACP, FACE, received  his medical degree from  the University of Karachi, Pakistan. He did his medical residency at Cook County Hospital, Chicago and Endocrinology Fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine where he is a Clinical Associate Professor. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and American College of Endocrinology. 
Dr Shahid  is a past president of Islamic Society of Greater Indianapolis (ISGI) and Interfaith Alliance of Indiana (IAI). He has  authored seven  books (including Islamic Perspective in Medicine and Health Concerns for Believers) and over 120 articles on medical and Islamic topics. He has addressed gatherings at many churches, civic organizations, universities and colleges on various topics including Islam, interfaith, spirituality and medical ethics in USA and overseas.
