United Central Bank Opens Fourth Branch in California in One Year

On October 10th, 2008 the Texas-based United Central Bank opened yet another Branch in CA at Wilshire Blvd. near Korea Town. This is the fourth branch opened by the Bank within one year of its commencement of operations on the West Coast. The first branch was opened on October 26th 2007 in Artesia and thereafter two more branches were opened in Fashion Mart, LA and Irvine.

At a time when many banks are facing problems with sub-prime loans, United Central Bank  is forging ahead thanks to its policy of safe, sound and conservative banking ethos.

The opening of  the Wilshire Branch was well attended by businessmen and dignitaries from different communities. The program started with the ribbon cutting ceremony by the Board of Directors headed by their Chairman Mr. James Yoo and other senior personnel. Thereafter, the program continued inside the large well-decorated banking hall with 200 guests  who had gathered there.

The program began with Perinne Medora Adm./Marketing Officer of the Regional Office of CA,  who conducted the entire proceedings thanking the guests and the Chairman and the Board of Directors for attending the function and sharing in their success. She complimented the efforts of the Regional Manager Shafiq Khan who made it possible for opening four branches of the United Central Bank in one year in CA.

Addressing the gathering Shafiq Khan once again shared the motto of the Bank: “United we Prosper” by emphasizing that they have staff members of different communities working for the Bank from the very top cadre to the grassroots level. He looked forward to the continued support from all the communities and assured everyone of personal and efficient service at all branches.

The gathering was also addressed by Mr. Mohammed Younus, Executive VP and Chief Lending Officer, who introduced the new team members of Wilshire Branch headed by Sun Kim – VP and Branch Manager and followed by Stacy Chon – Operations Officer, Kathy Han – Banking Officer, Jenny Yang and Jenny Yoon – Personal Bankers and Jeanne Cho – Teller.

Mr. Tim White, Exec. VP and Chief Operations Officer, gave as short history of the Bank over the past 21 years and its growing performance. He was followed by Mr. Scott Tsai, Exec. VP and Vice Chairman who recognized and welcomed the dignitaries.

Mr. James Yoo, Chairman of the Bank impressed the gathering by his address explaining how United Central Bank has stayed strong in the turbulent financial situation faced by all banks today. He mentioned that the fundamentals and the work ethics of United Central Bank are based on very sound and safe banking norms. The Bank is strong on guaranteed SBA loans and Asset-based Commercial Lending and does not handle residential loans which keep it growing from strength to strength. He was confident that United Central Bank will continue to perform well in California too.

Thereafter Sun Kim, VP and Branch Manager of Wilshire branch gave a vote of thanks to the invitees. The Board members then joined in for the cake cutting ceremony. The event culminated with a delicious lunch of Korean and Persian cuisine.
