Dr. Farooq Sattar A ddresses COPAA Board of Directors

 

The Council of Pakistan American Affairs (COPAA) hosted a reception in honor of Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Dr. Farooq Sattar in Los Angeles, California, on March 15.  
 
In his address Dr. Sattar remarked,"I am working on recommendations to grant overseas Pakistanis special seats in the parliament in order to involve them. The seats will be given in the senate, national assembly and the four provincial assemblies.”

Waivers of service charges on foreign remittances, relaxation in custom's duties, special treatment at immigration counters at the airport, a smart card, housing schemes and special quotas in schools and colleges are some of the incentives which Dr Sattar said would be provided to Pakistanis living abroad.

Mr Adnan Khan, President of the Council, welcomed Dr. Sattar. COPAA welcomes Federal Minister of Overseas Pakistanis Dr. Farooq Sattar's statement regarding overseas Pakistanis representation in Pakistani parliament. We believe under his leadership the overseas Pakistanis will get their fundamental right soon. COPAA asks that property rights of the overseas Pakistanis be protected in Pakistan. COPAA will continue to work for the overseas Pakistanis to achieve and overcome the challenges faced by them.
