Asif Syed Passes away
By Shaikh Majeed

Asif Bhai passed away this morning (Tuesday, December 8) after suffering a heart attack. Inna Lillahae Wa Inna Ilaehi Rajaoon. May Allah give him Maghfirah and the highest level of Jannat and grant fortitude and courage to members of his family (Ameen).
Asif Bhai was a very loving and caring person and I had the privilege and honor to work with him in Jack in the Box. He was a cofounders of the Urdu Writers Society along with Mohammed Kalam and Irfan Murtuza in 2003. He was highly respected in the community and every one loved him so much.
His death is a real loss to the community.

Asif Syed had completed his Masters in Business Administration. He worked for Jack in the Box as a very successful manager from 1981-1995 and later moved to Houston where he got shot in his back on August 08, 1995 and became disabled. Asif then moved back to Orange County and on August 16, 1999 started working for Good Will. Currently, he was working as Director of Landmark and Contract Manager.

According to Vice President Nancy Quarels of Good Will, Asif Bhai had raised the revenue of Good Will to $ 4M (million). He was providing jobs almost daily to disabled people. "There is no one in our company like him and we all loved him so much, he was highly respected among his co-workers. We will miss him forever," she mournfully said.

Asif Bhai was a very kind and loving friend, father and a great individual. He has left behind his wife and two beautiful daughters aged 14 and 16 years.

Asif Bhai was a very active member of the Pakistani-American community and was serving on the board of various organizations, including the Islamic Society of Orange County. He will be deeply missed by the community and all his friends.

Let's pray to Allah for his Maghfirah and the highest level of Jannat (Ameen).

Link's Editor Faruqui adds: It is hard to believe that Asif Sahib is no more. He has left us tearful and glum. His departure is most untimely. One comes across quite a few likeable and endearing individuals every day but there is none quite like him. His admirers and friends will cherish his winsome smile, warmth and affection. Farewell, dearest friend. May your noble soul rest in peace. (Ameen)
