Pakistan Advocacy Day on February 26
PAKPAC and 12 other Pakistani American organizations are organizing a Pakistan Advocacy Day on Capital Hill, Washington DC, on Thursday, Feb 26. The event will demonstrate unity and solidarity of the community to our elected officials, that we speak with one voice and one message – recognize the sufferings and efforts of people of Pakistan in the war on terror, says a PAKPAC message. It adds: “To recognize Pakistan’s efforts we are asking our elected Representatives to double the aid proposed in the Kerry- Lugar Bill, and to pass that bill at the earliest. With the new Congress and new administration in place in the US, we want to get a head start on US-Pakistan relationship to ensure this relationship is on sound footing.
“We have made appointments to meet with 35 Senators or Representatives on that day, we are awaiting appointment confirmations from many other elected Representatives, our goal is to meet with 75 Congresspersons. Please ask your Member of Congress to Join in the Day on Hill Breakfast Reception
“Please take time off from your busy schedule to join in this effort. Please visit the link http://pakpac.net/DOH6coordinate.asp for program, travel, and contacting Congressperson details.
