Consul General Ibne Abbas Grieved

Syed Ghazanfar Abbas, father of LA Consul General Syed Ibne Abbas, expired in Multan on February 13, 2009. Inna Lllahae Wa Inna Ilaehae Rajoon. He was 80 and is survived by his wife and six children.

The late Syed Ghazanfar Abbas was a leading landlord and prominent community figure of Multan. An engineer by profession, he rendered valuable services for which he duly earned a good name. Towards the mid-seventies he sought voluntary retirement while serving as Senior Divisional Engineer, Multan.

Consul General Ibne Abbas dashed to Multan to attend the funeral of his father. He is due to return to Los Angeles sometime next month.
