Pakistani Film Symposium at UC Davis on May 31
A Pakistan Link Report
The Middle East/South Asia Studies (MESA) Program at the University of California at Davis will be holding a free movie showing on Sunday, May 31, 2009 of two very unique Pakistani films which have received a great deal of international critical acclaim in the past couple of years, namely Shoaib Mansoor's "Khuda Kay Liye" and Mehreen Jabbar's "Ramchand Pakistani".
The film symposium will be held at the AGR Room Alumni Center, UC Davis Campus,
with Khuda Kay Liye starting at 2:00 PM just after necessary introductions by Dr. Suad Joseph.
There will be a 5:00 to 5:30 refreshment break and Ramchand Pakistani would start at 5:30 PM sharp. The event will conclude at 7:30 PM.
These movies are for mature audiences so please do not bring young children. They are being shown free of charge to the community as an attempt to bring local Pakistanis and their friends together to garner support for a more ambitious Pakistan Studies and Urdu language program at this campus. Please contact Gurjit Mann MESA at 530-754-4926 or via email
at mesastaff@ucdavis.edu for further details.
