Eighth Annual Iftar Dinner at Staten Island’s Masjid Al-Noor

Glimpses of the 8th Annual Iftar Dinner hosted by the Masjid Al-Noor in New York
New York: Masjid Al-Noor hosted the 8th Annual Iftar Dinner which was attended by Congressmen Mike McMahan, Pete Roins; FBI NY Special Agent In charge, Jim Hyce and Gillian Sarg; Department of Homeland Security & Immigration and Customs Enforcement Officer, Robert Perez; Customs and Border Protection Director, Mr.John Sasso; NY Police Department Staten Island Petrol Bureau, John M Kloe; Fire Department New York Assistant Chief, Joseph D. Heyer and Tim Harlocker; Deputy Assistant Chief, Syed Mohsin Razi; Consul General of Pakistan in New York and Mali Nord. The participation of these high-level American officials was made possible by well-known Pakistani American community members and Management of Masjid Alnoor Staten Island Dr.Sohail Muzzafar, Saqib Khan and Shafiq Saddiqui of Indus Television.
Dr.Sohail Muzaffar, Saqib Khan, Mr. Shafiq Saddiqui, Dr.Abdul Rahman, Qari Ghulam Rasul, Imam of the mosque, welcomed the distinguished guests. All the officials enjoyed Iftaar and dinner with members of various Pakistani/American community organizations as well as distinguished personalities from all over New York.
After iftar Imam Qari Ghulam Rasul recited Surahs from the Holy Qur’an with translation. Later on, he briefed the American officials on the Islamic philosophy behind the month of Ramadan and provided references from the Qu’ran and Hadith. Dr.Sohail Muzaffar welcomed the guests. He also thanked Mr. Shafiq Saddiqui for organizing the event and introduced the latest camera system installed by his company to telecast live Friday prayers on Internet around world on www.mbnllc.tv.
After the Azaan, Homeland Security, FBI, New York Police Department, Fire Brigade, Congressman Mike McHain, Board President Moli Mard addressed the congregation .They all thanked Mr. Sohail Muzzafar for his dedication, especially after 9/11, to build a bridge between the Pakistan community and law enforcement agencies.
