Qur’an Conference in Chicago

 

Chicago, IL:Preparations have been finalized for the upcoming three-day international Qur’an Conference titled “Building our Relationship with the Qur’an.” This conference is being organized by the Association for Qur’anic Understanding in collaboration with IQRA’ International Educational Foundation and Al-Furqan Foundation. It is one of a kind conference in which more than thirty international scholars are speaking on various aspects of the Qur’an.

Dr. Abidullah Ghazi, executive director of IQRA’, who is also the Chair of the Reception Committee has compiled a collection of Ayahs from the Qur’an, highlighting the significance of connecting with the Qur’an as a guiding force in the lives of Muslims in particular and humanity in general.

CONNECTING WITH THE QUR’AN

THIS QUR’AN:

This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah. Who believe in the Unseen, are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them. And who believe in the Revelation sent to you, and sent before your time, and (in their hearts) have the assurance of the Hereafter. They are on (true) guidance, from their Lord, and it is these who will prosper. Al-Baqarah 2:2-5

 

A UNIVERSAL MESSAGE:

This is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds. Sad 38:87

 

READ THIS BOOK:

Read! In the name of your Lord and Cherisher, Who created- Created human, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: Proclaim! And your Lord is Most Bountiful,—He Who taught (the use of) the Pen - Taught human that which he knew not. Al-Alaq 96: 1-5

 

REVELATION FROM ALLAH:

This Qur'an is not such as can be produced by other than Allah. On the contrary it is a confirmation of (Revelations) that went before it, and a fuller explanation of the Book wherein there is no doubt from the Lord of the Worlds. Yunus 10:37

 

ALLAH IS THE TEACHER:

Move not your tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: But when We have promulgated it, you follow its recital (as promulgated): Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): Al-Qiyamah 75:16-19

 

RASULALLAH IS OUR TEACHER: And as We have sent among you an Messenger of your own making Tilawat (rehearsing) to you Our Ayat (signs) and making your Tazkiyah (purifying you) and giving you Ta’lim (teaching you) of Al-Kitab (Al-Qur’an) and Hikmah ( Sunnah) and teaching you what you would have not known. Al-Baqarah 2:151

 

LISTENING WITH RESPECT:

When the Qur'an is read, listen to it with attention, and hold your peace: That you may receive Mercy. Al-A’raf 7:204

 

MEMORIZATION AND UNDERSTANDING:

And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember:Then is there any that will receive admonition? Al-Qamar 54:17

 

TAHFIZ:

We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; And We will assuredly guard it. Al-Hijr 15:9

 

MIRACLE OF THE QUR’AN:

Say! If the whole of mankind and Jinns were to gather together to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they backed up each other with help and support. Isra 17: 88

 

GUIDANCE OF THE QUR’AN:

Verily, this Qur'an does guide to that which is most right (or stable), and gives the glad tidings to the Believers who work deeds of righteousness, that they shall have a magnificent reward. Al-Isra 17: 9

 

MESSAGE OF LIGHT:

Alif –Lam- Ra. A Book which We have revealed unto you, in order that you might lead mankind out of the depths of darkness into light by the leave of their Lord to the Way of (Him) the Exalted in Power, worthy of all Praise. Ibrahim 14:1

 

HEALING AND MERCY:

O mankind! There hath come to you a direction from your Lord and a healing for the (diseases) in your hearts and for those who believe, a Guidance and a Mercy. Yunus 10:57

 

PAIN OF THE PROPHET:

“O my Lord! Truly my people took this Qur'an for just foolish nonsense.” Al-Furqan 25:30

 

LET US CONNECT WITH THE QUR’AN:

Do they not then earnestly seek to connect with (do Tadabbu) the Qur'an, or are their hearts locked up by them? Muhammad 47:24
