Z. A. Bhutto’s Death Anniversary Observed in California
The 31 st death anniversary of PPP founder Z. A. Bhutto was observed in Stockton, California, at the Headquarters of the PPP. Mr. K. B. Bhutto, President PPP of California, presided over the proceedings.
The presentation of a message of Chairman Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari by Dr. Malik Kaiyoom Awan, Senior VP PPP, CA, marked the commencement of the proceedings. It was followed by the recorded message of Sayada Shehla Raza, Deputy Speaker, Sindh Assembly. It was delivered via telephone from New York.
Prominent among the speakers and attendees were Dr. Malik Awan, Zahid Saif, Najma Bhutto, Zahida Tirmizi, Aijaz Malik, Ali Shah, Mumtaz Khan, Ali Asghar, M D Khalid, Malik Mohammad Taj, Adil Khan, and Aga Mohammad Aslam.
Dr. Awan in his speech said that a leader like the late Z. A. Bhutto is born in centuries. Quaid-e-Awam gave the gift of democracy to the nation. It was he who had made singular efforts to give the coveted status of a nuclear power to Pakistan. He played an important role in facilitating the migration of several thousand Pakistanis to different countries to earn their livelihood with dignity.
Zahid Saif, in his brief remarks, said that the PPP is a majority party in Pakistan because of the leadership and attainments of the late Shaheed Chairman Z. A. Bhutto who showed the nation that the PPP is the only party that could resolve their outstanding problems as well as ensure the unity of the country.
Najma Bhutto paid great tributes to Shaheed Chairman Z. A. Bhutto and stated that he had restored the rights of women in the National Assembly, Senate and the Provincial Assemblies. Mrs. Tirmazi also shed light on the life of late Shaheed Chairman Z. A. Bhutto.
At the end Mr. K.B. Bhutto highlighted the achievements of Chairman PPP Shaheed Z. A. Bhutto. It was Mr. Bhutto’s supreme political sagacity that 90,000 prisoners captured in the tragic East Pakistan fiasco were freed. He further said that he championed the cause of the Kashmiris and organized a memorable Islamic Conference in Pakistan. His achievements were indisputably many and monumental.
