Show of Solidarity with Pakistani Flood Victims at Fundraiser

Samina and Muhammad Shafique, in collaboration with the Pakistan Consulate General Los Angeles, organized a fundraiser for the flood victims of Pakistan. The fundraiser was attended by a large number of community members as well as the consul generals of China, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom, Bangladesh, Argentina, and Kenya. The presence of the dignitaries was very comforting for the Pakistanis present. 

Dr. Khalid Ijaz Acting Consul General of Pakistan in his opening address spotlighted the trauma and suffering of the flood victims in Pakistan. With the help of facts and figures he emphasized the fact that this natural disaster has been more severe and devastating than any other disaster the world has witnessed in the last fifty years. 

In their speeches the consul generals expressed their solidarity with Pakistan and assured the gathering of their wholehearted full support for the flood victims.

The Pakistani community members opened their heart and donated generously for the flood victims. It was a very successful fundraiser which was arranged in a very short period of time without the help of any community organization. At the end, Samina and Muhammad Shafique thanked all the guests individually for making the event a success.
