Urdu Cultural Society, Chicago, has applauded the peace initiative ‘Aman ki Asha: Destination peace,’ launched by the Jang Group and Times of India, to promote peace in South Asia by bringing the people of Pakistan and India closer through cultural, business and diplomatic initiatives. Suporting the message of peace ‘Aman ki Asha: Destination Peace,’ the Urdu Cultural Society, Chicago, has decided to dedicate its February meeting to ‘Aman ki Asha.” A large number of prominent Urdu and Hindi scholars, speakers and poets will participate in this literary “Peace Pow-Wow.”
Urdu Cultural Society’s “Aman ki Asha: Peace Pow-Wow” will be held on February 21, 3-8 pm, at Iqra Foundation, 7450 Skokie, Boulevard, Skokie, IL 60077 (Phone 847-763-4072). The first session will consist of a Mazakra (discussion); prominent academicians and speakers will discuss the modes and methodologies of promoting peace in South Asia. The second session will showcase a Mushiarah in which a large number of Urdu and Hindi poets residing in Chicago and suburbs will participate and recite their ‘Peace Poetry,’ by promoting Jigar Muradabadi’s message of peace and love:
