Pakistan Embassy in Washington Celebrates Eid Milad-un-Nabi
Wives of Pakistani and Islamic countries’ diplomats celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi at the Pakistan Embassy in Washington
Washington , DC : The life and teachings of Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) provide enlightened guidance for fostering peace and harmony in the world, Zeenat Ziyad, a scholar on Islam said at the Pakistani Embassy, where Pakistani-American women and wives of Islamic countries' ambassadors and Pakistani diplomats gathered to celebrate Eid Milad un Nabi.
In their speeches, speakers underlined the importance of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) message of peace, justice, fairness, equality and brotherhood for the world today. They particularly highlighted the respect and rights the Holy Prophet (PBUH) ensured for women. Women, they said, played an important role in various fields of life. As mothers and teachers they are central to building societies. The teachings of the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) have proved to be an everlasting source for bringing up children on the basis of morality, truth and integrity.
Welcoming the large gathering of Muslim women, on behalf of Ms. Farahnaz Ispahani, Member National Assembly and wife of Ambassador Husain Haqqani, Ms. Leena Moazzam, a senior officer of the Embassy said that through His messenger, Allah gave the message of peaceful coexistence and well-being for all humanity and if the world today discards confrontation and violence in favour of collective betterment of all, people could live in peace and harmony.
The participants recited "Naat" and offered Darood o Salam and prayed for peace and prosperity of Pakistan and the Ummah.
