Under the auspices of LAX Promotions a fundraiser was held for the Sughra Shafi Medical Complex Narowal in Pakistan at the Sheraton LAX recently.
Internationally acclaimed Pakistani singer Abrar ul-Haq entertained the audience and sang several popular Urdu and Punjabi songs. Almost all prominent figures of the community in Los Angeles were present on the occasion and generously contributed to the fundraiser. In all, forty-eight thousand dollars were collected. Well-known poet and writer Irfan Murtaza admirably conducted the proceedings. Abrar paid tributes to the poetry of Irfan and recited one of his poems adding a verse himself to be duly applauded by the audience.
Arrangements for the fundraiser were made by Sameer Moosani, YKKB, Ismail Keekeebhai, and Zubair Rawda.
