COPAA Condemns
On the nationally syndicated Leslie Marshal show on May 4, COPAA President Adnan Khan expressed the Pakistani community’s condemnation of the Times Square attempted bomb plot. Mr. Khan expressed his appreciation for the outstanding work done by various law enforcement agencies in apprehending the alleged perpetrator who is a Pakistan-born American citizen.
The live radio show also took calls from New York cab drivers and residents who shared their experiences and concerns for Pakistani residents of New York City. COPAA President articulated his community’s stand - zero tolerance for acts of terrorism - and reiterated the Islamic and Qur’anic standpoint on acts of terror. “Islam teaches tolerance and forbids the taking of human life and destruction of property,” he said.
