Call for Entries for 2011/2012 NAM Ethnic Media Awards
“It is with great pleasure that we invite ethnic media practitioners (print, online, radio and television) to participate in New America Media’s 2011/2012 Ethnic Media Awards For Northern California and the Central Valley. The NAM Awards bring recognition to the entire ethnic media sector,” says a NAM announcement. It adds:
“We are calling for entries for work published between January 1, 2011 and March 1, 2012. Award categories include Outstanding Hyperlocal Report/Feature; Outstanding Investigative/In-Depth Story; Outstanding Community Reporting - For Radio and For Television; and Outstanding Community Blogger, among others. Award winners will receive cash prizes and a trophy or certificate.
“We are honored to partner with KQED which will host our Awards Gala at their San Francisco studios in late June. Please watch out for the date and information about the event.
“We also welcome PG&E as a founding sponsor.
“Click here for complete guideline information and the entry form. NAM encourages in-language as well as English-language entries and participants are encouraged to include their own translations wherever possible.
“For the purposes of this competition, Northern California and the Central Valley stretches from the Oregon border through Fresno.
“NAM will host a Southern California Ethnic Media Awards competition and gala that will include ethnic media from Calexico to Bakersfield.
