A Touching Tribute to the Late Hamid Malik
The death of COPAA’s ex-President, Mr Hamid Malik, continues to be mourned by members of the community. At the prayers for the departed soul at the Islamic Society of Orange County (ISOC) on May 27 and later, glowing tributes were paid to the late Mr Malik. Quite a few individuals, including distinguished religious scholar Dr Muzammil H. Siddiqi, recalled his services for laudable causes.
Perhaps the most touching tribute was paid to the departed soul by prominent community member, Mr Ihsan Majid. A few excerpts: He was compassionate, vibrant and one-of-a-kind individual, loved, honored and respected by everyone in the community. Without any motive or expectations in return he had devoted most of his life helping others. He was everyone’s friend and his doors always remained open to all who were in need of assistance.
Hamid was a noble man with a big heart made of gold which bled for all. He worked tirelessly to boost the image of the community to its fullest level. His happy, innocent face gave him a charismatic and charming personality. Hamid had touched the lives and hearts of many deserving people; certainly he left his mark on LA’s Pakistani-American community. No one will be able to fill his shoes. He was my hero, my dearest close friend… He was a great father, a devoted husband, a family man, and a great humanitarian.
We all are going to miss him. I will cherish his memories forever. God bless his soul.
