CAIR-CA’s Note to Community on Shaima Alawadi’s Death

Dear community members,

The horrific murder of Shaima Alawadi, a 32-year-old mother of five children, has been extremely painful and difficult for her family members, friends, and members of the broader community.

CAIR-San Diego is in touch with the Alawadi family, providing them with necessary support, and has called on the police to investigate whether a bias motive was involved. We have received repeated assurances from the police that they are diligently investigating all aspects of this case. Anyone with additional information on the case is urged to contact El Cajon police at (619) 579-3311.

The community is also invited to a prayer service for Sr. Shaima today at 4 p.m. at 10390 Mountain View Lane, Lakeside.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide additional updates to the community as they become available. Please exercise patience as the police continue their investigation of Sr. Shaima’s death.

Remember to always report civil rights and hate incidents to your local CAIR office and to the authorities.
