CAIR-LA Congratulates Al-Shifa Clinic on Community Service Award  

Anaheim, CA: The Greater Los Angeles Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-LA) October 8 congratulated Al-Shifa Medical and Dental Clinic for receiving the 2012 Community Service Award from the Council on American-Islamic Relations' Washington DC office.

In a statement, CAIR-LA Executive Director Hussam Ayloush said:
"We commend the dedicated leadership of Al-Shifa Clinic for providing much needed medical services to the underserved populations in the Inland Empire area, and in doing so, emphasizing the positive role of American Muslims in our local communities."     
 Board Chairman Shams Hasan received the award on behalf of the clinic at CAIR's 18th Annual Banquet on September 29.   
 

"While I am proud to receive the award on behalf of the clinic and be a part of the team, credit goes to all the volunteer physicians and dentists, volunteers, staff, and above all, the donors who help us provide this service to the indigent local population, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, or gender," Hasan said.
