Pakistan American Chamber of Commerce Hosts Reception for CG Tasawar Khan

Pakistan American Chamber of Commerce (PACC) organized a reception in honor of the Consul General of Pakistan, Mr Tasawar Khan. Mr Khan has recently taken over the charge at the Pakistan Consulate in Los Angeles and the reception was organized to introduce the Board of Directors of PACC to the Consul General.
The reception was arranged by Mr Arif Mansuri, the owner and President of Metals and More, at his state-of-the-art metal manufacturing facility in Los Angeles. Mr Mansuri is also the owner and President of PL Publications, the publisher of Pakistan Link and Urdu Link.
Besides the PACC Board members and their spouses, the reception was attended by the Consul of Pakistan, Dr Khalid Ejaz; the Commercial Counselor of Pakistan, Mr Eazaz Dar; Dr and Mrs Shoaib Patel, Dr Razaq Chaudhry and Mr & Mrs Zafar Abbas.
Ali Sajjad, the Secretary General of PACC who served as the master of ceremonies, invited Mufti Sulaiman Hashim of Madina Islamic Center for recitation of the Holy Qur’an. The chairman and founder of PACC, Waqar Ali Khan, then welcomed the guests and outlined the purpose and objectives of PACC. Mr Waqar Kahn, who is also the host and producer of Safeer-e-Pakistan, a very popular TV program on GEO TV, informed the Consul General about the current trade and commerce related matters and the projects that the PACC is currently involved in.
Mr Arif Mansuri, the Co-Chairman of PACC, then described the various accomplishments of the PACC, that range from leading trade delegations to Pakistan and participating in various trade shows in Pakistan, to holding various fundraisers for the earthquake and flood victims in Pakistan and other causes, to raising awareness about issues of concern to Pakistan by holding press conferences, seminars and one-on-one meetings with the high officials of the US and Pakistan Government.
Mr Akmal Abbasi of Madina Islamic Center presented the Consul General a unique calligraphy painting.
Consul General Tasawar Khan thanked the organizers and spoke about the current trade and commerce related matters. He also apprised the audience about the current Pakistan-US relations. He stated that despite difficulties, Pakistan has made tremendous strides in development and promotion of goods and services for global exports. He stated that he maintains an open door policy and any one who wishes to contact him can call him directly on his cell phone.
The Consul General toured the manufacturing facility and admired the quality of workmanship and the capacity of this facility to mass produce metal parts.
Dr. Shoaib Patel led dua for peace, prosperity and progress of Pakistan. A sumptuous dinner catered by Al-Watan Restaurant was enjoyed by all and brought the memorable evening to an end.
